STRENGTHENING OF MEMBER-
Strengthening of member (beam or channel) of a equipment if damage in load is very essential to protect or reduce the down time of equipment. Today we have discussed about the different type of load acting on member and strengthening method of beam or channel.
Strengthening of adjacent joint member-
We take a example of channel adjacent welded with another channel - in such condition we have to welding a separate plate in between the flange and face of channel as shown in fig attached below. These plates give the extra strength to a equipment or member.

Strengthening of lifter frame on which two point load in applied-
If two point loads applied on lifter frame lifting by hydraulic cylinder and a trolley with two wheel stand on it and another hydraulic cylinder press it for lifting the material on trolley. If this frame cracks in between, how can we protect this frame from cracks and also give the long life to welded frame after cracks?
To protect such frame we have to welded suitable thickness plate in flange or face where suitable and we have welding a solid metal bar on bottom flange and equally divided on both side of crack point. And if possible on bar also provided in top flange of channel.

Strengthening of frame on which a equipment is mounted with two housing -
If a equipment is mounted on channel frame by two bearing housing, it may be a roller, industrial fan, blower, hydraulic cylinder, crusher and pulverizer or any such type of equipment then how can we strengthen such frame or prevent from bend of channel flange?
We have to provide the stiffeners in between the channel flange on suitable interval and provide plate of suitable thickness on the flange on which we have to fix bearing housing for extra strength.
