LOGIC CARTRIDGE VALVE IN HYDRAULIC CIRCUIT-

 

Logic cartridge valve mainly consist of three parts that are spring, poppet and seal. These are generally called poppet valve and work on two positions such as open and close. The main function is done by spring and system pressure to operate this valve. In below photograph you see these parts.

As we mentioned it works on two positions such as open and closed that is shown in graphic symbol for this valve.

We use this valve in the hydraulic circuit because of its distinct properties and benefits, these are mentioned below.

  1. Because of its construction it has very low leakage and can be used water based hydraulic fluids where leakage is the main problem.
  2. It can handle comparable higher flows than spool valves of a similar size.
  3. It is mounted on pre drilled manifold so provides high reliability and easy fault finding and maintenance.

 

 

Logic cartridge valves are very flexible. They can used with all types of hydraulic valves such as direction control, pressure control valve, flow control valve and checks valves. This type of valve can be operated with large amount of pressure and flow without any failure. It has very unique and simple design.

 

The most important thing of logic cartridge valve is that if pilot pressure is applied, the valve will remain closed. When there is no pilot pressure is applied, the valve remains open. The main function of spring is to close the valve when there is no pressure or less pressure in the system.

So we can say that logic cartridge valve act as pressure control  valve when it is require to control the pressure and if it is required that it should operate in one direction then a logic valve used as a check valve.

 If the flow is moving to the right, the logic valve opens once the spring tension is overcome, but any flow to the left will be blocked as pressure is applied to the pilot surface area.
