FAILURE OF DIRECTION CONTROL VALVE-
Today i want to share a case study of failure of hydraulic solenoid operated direction control valve. Some day before our plant was running in normal condition and hydraulic cylinder of a section was running very smoothly and sudden hydraulic cylinder stopped working, Piston was not come out side from cylinder when the coil gave the command of port change but operation was not done then our team gathered on shop floor and started to find out the reason behind it and resolved the problem.
For this we took several steps to resolve the problem and I want to explain that steps with you to enhance your knowledge and this also helped you to rectify the problem if you faced such type of problem.
I explain here complete step involve to find out the reason behind the breakdown.
- First we check the solenoid valve by pushing the plunger inside manually and checked the operational impact, and then we found that one direction plunger was not working, after then we replaced the solenoid valve but there is no any impact on operation.
- After then we opened both side cover of direction control valve and checked that whether the plunger is free or not, we found that plunger was free but for safety we cleaned the direction control valve with petrol and checked for operation but the position was still same.
- After then we opened the logic cartridge direction control valve that is mounted on manifold of direction control valve and found that plunger was jammed of it. Then we cleaned the plunger of logic cartridge with petrol and reinstalled it on its position and checked the operation, now we rectified the problem and our equipment started the operation.
